8:12 am - Alice and Deer Necklaces
Alice in Wonderland Resin Necklace Classy Deer Resin Necklace

Today's ZLY shop adds are a little eclectic but I'm really excited over both of them :3 on the left is a new Alice in Wonderland Necklace that features a super cute Alice with some scroll-ey gothic touches. On the right is the slightly vulgar Classy Deer Necklace which makes me giggle, it's the newest installment in the sold out Enchanted Animals Series :3

In other news I cannot believe that it's Thursday! This week completely and utterly got away from me o___O My awesome friend Laina is coming to visit tomorrow so expect not a blog from me, or anything really, until Saturday afternoon. Whee!

10:37 am - Gothic Lolita Resin Necklaces
Gothic Lolita Resin Necklaces

Added a pair of Gothic Lolita Resin Necklaces to the ZLY shop today, Bow/Cross and Heart/Top Hat, both of which feature super sparkly black silver glitter and gunmetal black ball chains.

I also really need to set up this month's giveaway ... have a good idea for December but I'm not 100% sure what I want to do for this month yet ... which is a problem since it was supposed to start yesterday. D'oh!

3:05 pm - Zombuki Custom Tamo, Mab
Zombuk Tamo Custom :: Mab ::

A quick photo from yesterday of my first Crazy Label Tamo custom, Mab. To me, Tamo is one of the cutest and most interested blanks that the urban vinyl community has to offer, and I'm excessively inspired by it's awesomeness. The concept behind Mab is kind of a collection of inanimate objects that somehow came to life - I have five Tamo (four left) and I'm hoping to make Mab the first in a set of five that all have the same theme. As a side note I made her eyes and they took for. ever. lol ;3

5:49 pm - Studio Photos 11/14
Studio Portrait Saturday, November 14th Edition

This week's studio photos land today instead of yesterday, probably for no real reason ;3 except I worked in the studio for a long time so the photos are definitely more interested today then they would have been yesterday. Was that really redundant or is it just me? Anyhoo ... I'm starting early prep for a Florida show in March that will range from Blythe to kokeshi and definitely include a lot of vinyl.

On the above is a completed kokeshi that I'm so silly over that I'm making it a sister :3 and Ms. Bunny Watkins, my first 3" Dunny custom. A cookie to anyone who knows what that's a reference to without use of Google ;3 I still have a lot of finishing type stuff to do on her, but she's 90% done.

Studio Portrait Saturday, November 14th Edition

On the above, Miss Peaches up front is "done" though I might change her flower thing at the bottom, not 100% sure about the rhinestones there. In the background you will also see my first Qee in progress, it's the devil bear baby one, I got it because it was the closest to a rat I could find, LOL!

You can click any of these to view them larger on my Flickr :3

Also here's a random anecdote - I was walking today when I got distracted by these kids fishing with a net, it was really depressing to me (and lazy), when suddenly this dude power walked by me at top speed, and I looked up to realize I was totally eating the dust of some 70-something year old man. Take that, youngsters! ... meaning me!

Brigitte out.

Self Portrait Thursday, November 12th Edition

I love low tide at Philippe Park, here's me acting like a dork there ;3 For my fellow Floridians ... isn't it WTF cold out suddenly? I'm freaking out (sort of)!

7:39 am - Bambi Returns
Gunmetal Bambi Holiday Ornament

Looking for something awesomesauce to make your holiday tree radical? Look no further! The Gunmetal Bambi Ornament has returned to grace us with it's fawn-tastic presence for yet another year, hurray! This ornament was inspired by a giant, honking metal deer ornament we had when I was a kid, I was always wracked with anxiety on tree-decorating day because I was obsessed with being the one who placed it on the tree :3 Three cheers for deers!

Caurina on Black #4

New photos of Caurina in black are up on her gallery page :3 I've been trying to make a concerted effort to photograph all the girls on a black background as of late.

Caurina's Dress is from Dollsville and her headband from Art Plonsjeroze :3

8:49 am - Sweet Lover Resin Necklaces
Cupcake Lover Resin Necklace Macaroon Lover Resin Necklace

I had meant to post these to the ZLY Shop yesterday for Sweet Sunday but I got distracted :3 They are Cupcake Lover Necklace in pink and Macaroon Lover Necklace in lavender. I think they make a really cute pair :3 and both are one of a kind!

2:05 pm - Me and My Shadow
Cosmic!

My litmus test for impending holiday arrival has got to be the sparkle deer at Borders. Last year they had them in black and magenta, solid offerings to be sure, but imagine my delight when Karlen (behind the lens) and I found freaking awesome turquoise glitter deer last night! It was a bonanza! ... Then I didn't buy one. Remorse is what I feel ... to Borders!!

9:13 am - ZLY 2010 Wall Calender
Zombuki Doll 2010 Wall Calender

Yay! The Zombukis Love You 2010 Wall Calender is live! For those of you who have the 2009 Calender I must say I think the 2010 one blows it out of the water! I'm so pleased with how it turned out :3 There are currently four up in the ZLY shop with more coming in next week. If you'd like to know what other girls are featured just drop me a line, I always want my calenders to be a surprise so that's where there are only the four teaser images :3

8:50 am - Snow White and Mermaid Necklaces
Snow White Picnic Resin Necklace Diving Mermaid Resin Necklace

Two fairy tale necklaces are now up in the ZLY shop :3 a remake of the Diving Mermaid Necklace which features faux pearls, and a Snow White Picnic Necklace that is a bright, grass green.

In other news I totally dropped my glasses and broke the frame, d'oh! I wanted to tape them up all nerd-style but it would obstruct my vision too much, a pity! Glue ... we're still friends, right? Then let's do this thing! lol

11:28 am - Studio Portrait Friday
Studio Portrait Friday, November 6th Edition

At the moment in the studio I'm busy making new kokeshi and my first mini Dunny :3 I get so many that I don't want (in blind boxes) that I need to figure out a use for them, lol. Customs ... away! The funny thing is that I almost always pull the chase, but it's always the lousy chase that I don't want. D'oh!

Studio Portrait Friday, November 6th Edition

On the other side you can see a notebook of Zombuki Valley that I had made up. I'd love to start carrying these but the printing costs are so high I'm not sure if I can make them and keep the price point low. Looks like it might just have to be a special giveaway or something. Grumble ...

In other news ... whatever! LOL I have so much to do right now, school, craft show prep, doll photos, and it's a beautiful day outside! You can't expect me to stay in here all day can you?! :D

8:44 pm - Enchanted Animal Necklaces
Enchanted Animals Series Resin Necklaces

Oopth. So I listed these in the ZLY shop this morning, then my internet bombed out on me, then I worked in the studio, got coffee, watched a movie ... then checked on my blog an realized I forgot to actually blog about them. Dern. The only one of these still available is the Pink Deer Necklace though the Lavender Bunny Necklace can and probably will be remade at some point :3 I'm really trying to get better about that, I swear!!

01. If I were a colour, I'd be ... the color of my hair, icy turquoise <3

02. a smell - burning charcoal on a cold day ...

03. a place - I would be the Appalachian mountains, because they're hard core ...

04. a proverb - I'd be "The Heart Wants What It Wants" - my Dad says it a lot and it's true ...

05. A band - The Knife, because they're unusual and intelligent and stunning and prolific ...

06. A song - "Five Years" by Bjork

07. An actor/An actress - Hugh Jackman, LOL and I'm not even going to explain why because that makes my answer that much funnier ...

9:04 am - October 2009 Month End Report
Time for the October 2009 Month End Report!

GID Resin Blythe Doll Soap Dish

  • Sell 20 Resin Pieces - 19 :3 I got soooo close this time! No complaints though, none at all, one shy is still awesome by me.

  • Reach 875 Sales Mark - This month I got to 868 sales (I'm not counting one because it hasn't been paid for yet so it might be 869), which is awesome. Again it's a little short of the goal but totally great none the less.

  • Restock Zombuki Square Necklaces - Fail! I keep waking up and saying I'm going to do this, then not doing it. I really need to get them done ASAP because of the holiday craft shows coming up; they're usually my best sellers :3

  • Finish/List Halloween Kokeshi - Yes! Donne was completed, listed, and sold this month!

  • Finish/List Halloween Tamo Pair - I finished and photographed the red/pink Tamo only to realize the white background bleached it out so much that the photos were utterly useless. I'll be re-photographing it on another background very shortly, much to my irritation, lol.

  • Final (3rd) Photos of Zombuki Caurina and Get Her Home - I mostly met this goal :3 the third photos are completed but I'm waiting on the finally sub-payment before I ship her, so she should go out this month for sure.

  • Start and Finish Dia de los Muertos Zombuki - Yes! You all watched Dia come to life this month :3 I hope to get some really great photos of her too, she's very special to me!

  • Finish and Photograph Cherry Blossom Dal - I finished her but need to photograph her still, being without a camera for 2 weeks really threw a monkey wrench in a lot of things XP I must confess.

  • Finish Hanging Art in New House - Sigh. It's so depressing that these "home" ones never ever ever seem to get done. Luckily I'm getting some new framed things soon and I'm hoping that will motivate me to get all the art hung up. Here's hoping!

  • Touch Up Paint in Bedroom - Still no, though I'm not sure why I'm so lazy, there's something about actually getting the paint out, stirring it, pouring it, and not making a mess that just kills my momentum XP lol

  • Totally Finish Unpacking Boxes, Seriously - NO. Fail! Epic fail!! I did unpack two boxes if that means anything XP though it really shouldn't, lol. Happily Laina is coming to visit in November and I'm going to use that as a benchmark for serious and for really real unpacking. Wish me luck!! lol

Well we're in the home stretch for 2009, crazy isn't it? Now is the time of year wherein I frantically prep for craft shows and the holidays and finals and, well, it should be an adventure! :D

9:52 am - Halloween and Moar
Halloween 2009, Alien Panda Mirror Mirror, Camera Camera

As promised I wanted to post better photos of the icy turquoise hair and I figured it would be just as fun to double it up with Halloween costume photos :3 Plus I like the way the ton of makeup and no makeup photos look next to each other.

Yesterday moi, Karlen, and Gene went to the Super7 party in St. Petersburg where we chillaxed and bought flavored Japanese Kit Kat. Mango and Apple Carrot win the day! My costume is "alien drag queen panda" ... aka "thrown together," but at least I got to do semi-Zombuki makeup on myself, in fact, Dia and I rocked the same eyelashes yesterday! lol :D I even tied a scarf in an obi bun for a panda tail, but I think it may have been too abstract ... then I came home, became sleepy, got one trick-or-treater family who rocked plain clothes (lazy), watched a movie, and went to bed. Envy my rolla rock lifestyle, y'all!!

Oh, and tomorrow is my Birthday!!! Whoooooooo!

5:46 am - Zombuki ACEO Prints
Zombuki ACEO Cards - Ume and Hirondelle

I had been meaning to make ACEO (Artist Cards Editions and Originals) aka ATC (Artists Trading Card) prints of some of the Zombuki for a while now. These two are the first I've made, 01 Hirondelle and 02 Ume, they're professionally printed on postcard stock with a glossy finish. I hope to make more ACEOs of the girls soon :3

Breaking Blue, After ...

Lousy Photo quality! It was taken around 9 PM with flash in my kitchen XP but this is the new blue. In regular light it looks icy and very cool, like those Blue Mint Candies, much lighter than my previous blue! I had to adjust this photo because it was super dark (and we had red eyes) so I'll do my best to post a better photo of my hair if/when the sun comes out today, otherwise tomorrow. I LOVE the new color and Lauren is my new hero <3 Huge shouts to Lindsey for all her advice too <3

For the curious we lightened my hair (which had Punky Colours Turquoise in it) with a Beyond the Zone bleaching kit. It was dark blue before and we got it to an amazing seafoam green that I would have kept had it not come complete with 2" cream colored roots. You can see a photo of it on my Flickr since I was really hesitant to let it go ;3 Then we dyed it with Manic Panic Atomic Turquoise for not very long ... 20 minutes? to keep the blue nice and light. Of course by "we" I mean Lauren since I did pretty much nothing XP lol
